Camp Javan engages, educates, and empowers Iranian youth in diaspora through an inclusive, intentional space where they discover a strong sense of self and become agents of change.

Welcome to Camp Javan!

Camp Javan is open to all current 6th through 8th grade students. Please note that current 8th grade students must apply to Camp Javan. We will not accept rising 6th grade students. Camp Javan is held concurrently with Camp Ayandeh.

Plans for 2021 have not yet been announced. It is our hope that we will be able to hold Camp Javan 2021 in person in late July as we are monitoring advancements in the pandemic. Our staff is deliberating as details emerge about the vaccination plan, and will notify families later this Spring. To receive updates, please sign up for IAAB’s newsletter.

Interested in being a counselor or staff member? Applications will be available when enrollment is open.

We apologize that we are unable to respond to other inquiries at this time. To learn more about Camp Javan, read below or visit our YouTube page.

Camp Javan

Camp Javan is tailored to the unique challenges and potential of middle school. Camp Javan has the dual mission of empowering campers with a deeper understanding of culture and identity as youth within the Iranian diaspora, and the confidence and skills to be leaders within their communities.

Camp Javan finds the perfect balance between fun and learning, with all activities in English. Camp Javan is a weeklong overnight camp led by IAAB staff and hosted at a college. Exceptional university students and young professionals, mostly comprised of Camp Ayandeh alumni, lead campers as counselors through a series of community-building activities, experiential workshops, and discussions.

Camp Javan serves rising 7th grade through rising 9th grade students. As a non-political and non-religious camp, Camp Javan is open to all races and creeds. Founded in 2012, Camp Javan is an annual summer program held in conjunction with Camp Ayandeh. In the past, Camp Javan was held in the Atlanta, Boston, Washington DC, and Los Angeles areas. Participants travel from across the United States and even internationally.

Everyone’s talent, passion, and kindness here inspires me more than what I can express in words. I now know that no matter what, I will always have my camp family as a support for the rest of my life.

-Maana M.

I have never had such a fun, exciting, unique experience in my life. These memories will always stay with me and I’m more proud to call all these new people my brothers and sister. Camp has become my second home.
